Includes 5 great dvd's!
Becoming a Champion Swimmer: Freestyle - Quick's first key to successful
freestyle is learning to maintain an efficient and balanced body position that
is not compromised when arm movement is added. Next, Quick shares a thorough
explanation of the arm movement and demonstrates proper hand placement into the
water. Quick then builds the stroke through a series of easy to follow drills
that teach proper posture, line, and balance. Quick's proven drill sequence also
includes recovery strategies that assist in keeping the body in a forward
focused line on the water - not wavering from side to side. Quick's drills also
assure proper timing of the breathing in the stroke. In a review and critique of
the full freestyle stroke, you will see the successful results of Quick's drill
sequence as his young demonstrators swim a fluid and efficient freestyle stroke.

Becoming a Champion Swimmer: Backstroke - Coach Quick believes that
the first essential for any successful backstroker is to establish a sound
understanding and feel for the proper body position in the water. Beginning his
presentation with a review of posture, line and balance essentials, Quick
"builds" the backstroke from the inside out sharing innovative drills
and technique tips for proper hand placement, underwater pull and recovery.
Throughout these drills, Quick repeatedly stresses the importance of swimming
the backstroke on the side and driving the stroke from the hips. Emphasizing a
"tight, fast, electric kick", Quick and his young swimmers demonstrate
each drill and how easily you can incorporate them into your program. Quick also
shares common stroke faults and provides invaluable tips to assure proper stroke
mechanics. 49 minutes. 2006. DVD. MD-2548B
Becoming a Champion Swimmer: Breaststroke - Richard Quick's key to
swimming championship breaststroke is to swim a stroke that is "forward
focused." Upon establishing the proper balance and position of the body in
the water, Quick thoroughly explains the full arm motion for the stroke. In
addition, he shares drills and strategies that keep the pull in front of the
shoulders and deliver a fast hand recover. His arm pull drills teach you to
accelerate the body in a forward motion, rather than up and down. Quick then
turns his attention to adding the kick to accelerate the body forward. He
emphasizes positioning the knees to be in line with the body, rather than pulled
up underneath the body--a common error with many breaststrokers. To assure a
swimmer of achieving an efficient, rhythmical breaststroke, Quick reviews the
full stroke emphasizing the proper timing of the pull, breath and kick. A
segment detailing the breaststroke pull-out highlights a critical technique in
becoming a champion breakstroker! 59 minutes. 2006. DVD. MD-2548C
Becoming a Champion Swimmer: Butterfly - Coach Quick feels that a key
component to becoming a champion butterflier is getting the body into a
"plank-like" position. This position ultimately allows the tightest
possible line of motion to assure that the energy of the stroke is focused
forward rather than up and down. Quick teaches the proper arm movement of the
stroke beginning with the recovery, followed by the hand entry and pull phase of
the stroke. Through an excellent drill series, he shows how to add undulation to
the stroke and incorporates the dolphin kick for timing and rhythm. Today's
champions swim a tight, forward-focused butterfly and Richard Quick's unique
drills series will have you swimming like a champion in no time! 51 minutes.

Becoming a Champion Swimmer: Starts and Turns - Coach Quick's start drill
sequences are designed have the swimmer enter the entire body through the
"hole" in the water and carry that speed into the stroke. Beginning
with the forward start, Coach Quick leads you through a series of kneeling
drills before moving up to the actual block start position. Quick utilizes the
track start that affords maximum stability on the block and allows a quick take
off. Quick then shares a lead up sequence for the backstroke start that is
designed to get the hips over the water on the start before moving to the full
backstroke starts. In the Turns segment of this video, Quick begins with turns
for free and backstroke. Starting with the basics of body rotation, Quick
progresses through a series of drills that result in teaching a swimmer that the
tighter you can tuck the faster you can spin and the faster the turn. Quick also
shares free and backstroke breakout strategies that include both a dolphin kick
breakout and a flutter kick breakout. Quick then moves into turns for the
breaststroke and butterfly. He builds the turn from the basics of teaching body
rotation along with mid pool drills that require a tight tuck and fast spin
before teaching the full turn at the wall for fly and breast. Quick teaches the
basics of the breakouts for fly and the breaststroke and includes detailed
instruction on how to do an efficient pullout. Quick then goes through all of
the turns for the individual medley. 58 minutes. 2006. DVD. MD-2548E
