The Basics of the Single Wing Offense
with Mike Rude,
Johnston City High School (IL) Head Coach;
Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame (`95),
Selected as the Ray Eliot Award recipient (highest award given to IL HS football coaches)

The Single Wing Offense dates way back into the glory days of Coach Pop Warner and was also used frequently in the `40's and `50's, but has since faded away. The unique offense is now experiencing a rebirth. Currently at the high school level, the Single Wing is almost non-existent. This offense takes root in a heavily unbalanced offensive line and a shotgun snap--something your opponents have never seen before. Coach Rude goes over all of the formations, how the play calling system works, and pre-shift formations. Coach Rude and offensive line coach Brian Berry then go into detail teaching nine different formations including seam bucks, counter trey, option, and wedge series. To simplify, Rude has developed a list of blocking rules for every hole that allows countless different combinations of plays to be run. He goes over individual play assignments with extensive team demonstration and game footage to help fully demonstrate the player's responsibilities and the offensive playbook. After only 4 years of running the Single Wing, Coach Rude's team has averaged over 4,000 rushing yards a season and has had six rushers with over 1,000 rushing yards. Using this rush-oriented offense will allow your team to control the clock, limit turnovers, and have fun with a new style of successful football. 98 minutes. 2006. DVD.

The Single Wing Offense: The Fullback Attack
with Mike Rude,
Johnston City High School (IL) Head Coach;
Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame (`95),
Selected as the Ray Eliot Award recipient (highest award given to IL HS football coaches)

Mike Rude has coached six 1,000 yard rushers within the four years he has been running the Single Wing Offense (that's over 400 yards rushing per game!). He has been coaching for over 30 years but has found his greatest success with a classic offense in today's ever-changing football environment. Getting your fullback involved in your Single Wing not only broadens your playbook, but it will also provide an even larger spectrum of deception for the defense. Coach Rude goes over every blocking assignment for every play, and presents a "Blocking Rules Cheat Sheet" that makes remembering everything you learn much easier. He then talks about how to implement the 30, 50, 70, and seam bucks series. All of these series provide a direct snap to the fullback. His meticulous diagramming and presentation of 20 plays will allow your team to dominate the game, the chains, and the clock. He then provides extensive game footage to give you a first-hand look at how everything fits together. After viewing his video you will be fully equipped to utilize these plays against any defense or any situation you may encounter in the next football season. This is a "must have" DVD and a great complement to The Basics of the Single Wing Offense. 56 minutes. 2006. DVD.
