with Jose Lucero, Desert Edge (AZ) High School Offensive Coordinator; Under Coach Lucero Desert Edge averaged 42 points per game in 2012
Jose Lucero takes you through the stats and production behind the pistol offense that has helped change his offensive production immensely. Coach Lucero breaks down various plays and alignments he uses in the Pistol run game.
Coach Lucero goes through the inside zone, zone read, zone trap, outside zone and two back plays in a power scheme. Using a power point presentation and game film to cover all the rules and techniques in his scheme, Coach Lucero creates a simple approach to implement this offense immediately. He begins with the inside zone, showing you the basic rules and keys to running a successful zone scheme. Variations of inside zone are discussed in detail with visual support. They include: zone trap, zone read (veer, veer bluff, veer trap, veer hi, veer lo), and he also talks about his two back variations with kick and jet.
You'll also get great information on the offensive line blocking rules that they can utilize for each running play against both, an even front and an odd front. Coach Lucero also explains different issues you might have with different running plays and ways you can adjust to achieve success. You'll see game footage while Coach gives detailed explanation of each running play.
Through Coach Lucero's presentation and simplified approach, success will be easy in this offense next season. Allow your athletes to get into space and your line to be physical off the line within this zone pistol offense.
