In Part 1,The Basic Mechanics, Diana breaks down the forward stride beginning with "ready position," and in Part 2, Body Positioning Drills, Schaefering shares drills that reinforce a proper body position. In Part 3, The Makeup of the Forward Stride, Diana breaks down the forward stride into bending, extending, and recovering. She also presents teaching tips/drills that teach the skater what to "feel for" when doing the skill correctly. In Part 4, Body Control, Diana shares body control specifics to gain efficiency through maximizing drive from the hip. In Part 5, Problem Solving, Schaefering presents common hockey errors with coaching solutions to correct each problem. This exceptional presentation is enhanced with watching Diana work with demonstrators that range in age from elementary through high school. 39 minutes. 2005. DVD. HD-2447B

Schaefering then moves into the "nuts and bolts" of the backward "C" cut. Diana feels that it is essential for a player to establish a strong closed hip flexor position and shares drills that assist the player to not only gain mobility in the hip flexor but also to help the player establish a feel for the correct technique for the backward "C" cut. Schaefering proceeds with the execution of the "C" cut, first teaching single leg, then alternating pushing legs. Throughout this presentation Diana coaches/utilizes varied age demonstrators offering age-specific teaching tips and how to spot technical tendencies that each age group encounters from a basic level skater to a more advanced skater. Schaefering then continues her teaching/drill progression with more technical information and along the way shares hcokey skating instruction and drills designed to help a skater maximize movement, awareness, and efficiency in backward skating. 34 minutes. 2005. In Part 2, Line of the Cross, Diana works with the actual line, or angle, of the cross. She shares specific techniques and drills that address how upper body control is necessary for a successful crossover. In Part 3, The Crossover Point, Diana teaches how to get a player to crossover at the top of the thigh, including a continued progression that leads a player to the correct feel of the proper crossover point.
